To answer the questions, Radon Tests can be done by anyone who wants to do
them, there are no laws in the State of Colorado as of yet protecting consumers.
In Colorado Springs you can easily call the CDPHE at 1-800-846-3986 for test kits
Who should mitigate my home? Anyone who wants to... I was a mitigator for
some time and found that there were no laws or codes to base my work off of,
there are no local codes for installations to be based off of.
Only Standards set by the EPA..This is OK, but not
enough. Consumers should demand more!!
How do you know if you hire someone who is good? Do some research I
guess, I've seen even CERTIFIED installers not even come close...illegal electrical
work, non compliant discharge heights... you name it.
